    WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION?
My specific motivation varies, but one constant aspect that continues to motivate me is pushing perceived limits. I love seeking out what others deem to be limits and pushing past them. Whether limits are times for certain distances, new distances, or a level of difficulty beyond comprehension - I simply love testing myself and trying to achieve the "unachievable." Part of my motivation also stems from the spirit of competition and I really enjoy toeing the line with other like-minded athletes.
    WHAT IS OUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?
My accomplishments have come in various forms throughout the years. I still fondly remember my first Boston Marathon Qualifier, and the pride I had in achieving such a distinguished level of fitness. Breaking 3 hours in the marathon for the first time was another milestone accomplishment of mine, even though I've gone on to do that numerous times since and I've even run a 2:46 marathon wearing flip flops - which is probably my most famous accomplishment. Overall though, I'd say my biggest accomplishment is never quitting no matter how tough the situation becomes.
    WHO IS YOUR HERO?
Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller. He was a Marines Marine. Always leading from the front and never letting anything stop him from achieving the objective at hand. He didn't believe in limits or that anything was out of reach. Leading from the front, he pushed his men beyond the limits they thought existed, only to come out successful on the other side. He never gave up.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT YOUR SPORT?
I enjoy the camaraderie of other runners, whether or not competition is an element. It's the people we meet that shape our lives and our sport.
WHY IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR FEET IMPORTANT TO YOU?
Taking care of my feet is important because they are what get me from place to place, whether running, walking, cycling, or anything else. Starting back in my early days in the Marine Corps, it was said that taking care of the feet is the most important thing you can do in the field and neglecting them is the quickest way to find yourself heading to medical. As my running career has progressed, foot care is a constant element and as important as speed work, hill training, and logging the many miles I log.
